Don't get me started.....
Funding basic science research is not a waste of money. Funding of research in Drosophila (the fruit fly) has helped us discover how genetic mechanisms that control embryonic development work (like my dissertation!), that chromosomes are the basis of heredity, not to mention that Drosophila is being used as a model to study many human diseases, including autism and cancer. There is plenty of wasteful spending in congress to be sure but it's not being wasted if it's put towards scientific research.

The Republic Party has been hijacked by people that think the Earth is 6000 years old.
McCain wouldn't even be as close as he is now if he wouldn't have picked Palin to shore up that "base".
