Google Map Mashups

I don't know about you, but I used to be a common mapquest user. Recently I switched to google maps. But there's more to it than just directions. You can search a zipcode for "pizza" or "chinese" and it'll give you the location of the nearest restaurants or even search for "wi fi" access points. But it goes even further than that. As this blogger chronicles people with way too much time on their hands are helping make google maps even more useful. For example, you can use the SF beer map to find your nearest pub, brewery or bar. Or perhaps your looking for a new rental in SF? Try the real estate mashup! There's hundreds of these mashups out there. Pretty cool stuff.
