We spent a lovely sunny afternoon with friends, celebrating Callum's 4th birthday. It was fun watching the many children play on the 'Slip and Slide' set up by Callum's parents. I remember spending many a hot day sliding on slick wet plastic. A part of me wanted to join them in their fun, maybe share with the kids the increased velocity that can be obtained by squirting a little dishsoap onto the slide....but instead I sipped my margarita and laughed at the kids with the other adults wishing they were still young enough to play in the water as well.
Things change quickly in the University Village-friends come and go. But today was a day to remember. Some of our friends (old neighbors) returned to the courtyard for the celebration and a BBQ at our house afterwards. It was a great time sharing stories with both old friends and new.
